Very nice day. Got to the lake early and rigged the 7.5 Gaastra. Then it started to pick up a lot. Couldn't get on with the big board too well either. So I changed down 2.2m - a hec of a lot, and thought I might float a bit but just to make life easier. No way! I was straight on to it immediately. Loads of blasting and gybing for hours. Did a few nice jumps of the small lake-waves. Then a massive catapult going for a wave, where I banged my head as I spud around upside down... ouch!

So I had a rest, then tried to relax more in the next session. Also trying to focus on Boomshaka, and getting the rig flip more in sync with the foot change. It seemed to help as my gybing got a bit more energy efficient. I still struggle to keep it on the plane on exit and can end up too far upwind and having to point back down again, but it is a bit more defensive and safe to gybe like this.

Then it picked up even more, could have done with the 4.7, so I just yanked on a bit more and over downhauled the 5.3. It helped a bit. After 4+ hours I was a bit shagged I can say.

Colin tried to climb through his 5.4 sail, cost him a few quid! Quite a few on the water, most people choosing much too big sails, which seems to be a feature of the "lake world".

CU round.
